Rory Sabbatini And U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin Commit To Play In HP Byron Nelson Championship

Irving, TX – Rory Sabbatini and U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin have officially committed to play in the 2009 HP Byron Nelson Championship. Sabbatini is No. 40 in the race for the FedEx Cup, No. 37 on the PGA TOUR Money List and No. 40 in the World Golf Rankings. Pavin is ranked No. 49 in Career Earnings on the PGA TOUR.

Sabbatini will be returning for his 11th appearance at the Championship. His best 2009 finish on the PGA TOUR was a tie for sixth at the Northern Trust Open. Sabbatini has captured four PGA TOUR victories, with the most recent in 2007 at the nearby Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in Fort Worth.

Pavin will be looking to add another PGA TOUR victory to his roster of 15. His most recent win was in 2006 at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee. A resident of Dallas, Pavin was recently selected by The Professional Golfers' Association of America to captain the 2010 U.S. Ryder Cup Team. This will be Pavin’s 22nd Championship appearance.
