J.J. Henry, Stuart Appleby and 2007 Champion Scott Verplank Commit To Play In HP Byron Nelson Championship
Irving, TX – J.J. Henry, Stuart Appleby and Scott Verplank have officially committed to play in the 2009 HP Byron Nelson Championship. Henry is No. 40 in the race for the FedEx Cup and No. 36 on the PGA TOUR Money List. Appleby is No. 14 in PGA TOUR Career Earnings. Verplank ranks No. 56 in Scoring Average on the PGA TOUR.
Henry is a Fort Worth resident and a ’98 Texas Christian University graduate. He consulted Weibring Wolfard Golf Design during the renovation of TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas and his best 2009 finish on the PGA TOUR was 2nd at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Riviera Maya-Cancun.
Appleby has claimed eight PGA TOUR victories, with the most recent being the 2006 Mercedes Championships and Shell Houston Open. His best 2009 finish on the PGA TOUR was a tie for 8th at the Transitions Championship. This will be his seventh HP Byron Nelson Championship appearance.
Verplank, a Dallas native and resident, has grabbed five PGA TOUR victories with the most recent being the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. This will be his 23rd Championship appearance.
