For Immediate Release: March 6, 2008 John Daly Accepts Sponsor Exemption To Play In EDS Byron Nelson ChampionshipIrving, TX – John Daly has accepted one of the Championship’s sponsor exemptions to play in the 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Daly turned pro in 1987 and has won on the PGA TOUR five times, including two majors – the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 British Open Championship. His most recent victory was the 2004 Buick Invitational. “Daly is a fan favorite on the TOUR,” said John Nolan, 2008 tournament chairman. “We look forward to the added excitement he will bring to this year’s Championship.” Daly has made 12 Nelson appearances, and his best Championship finish was T27 in 2004. In 2007, he ranked No. 2 on the TOUR for driving distance. The 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship will be played April 23-27 at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.
