For Immediate Release: March 24, 2008 Dougherty, Knost, Gamez And Palmer Accept Exemptions To Play In EDS Byron Nelson ChampionshipIrving, TX – Nick Dougherty, Robert Gamez, Colt Knost, and Ryan Palmer have accepted exemptions to play in the 2008 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Nick Dougherty, ranked No. 51 in the World Golf Rankings, received a Commissioner’s exemption from the PGA TOUR and will be making his first appearance in the Championship. Robert Gamez has three PGA TOUR victories. His best finish in 2008 is T16 at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. He ranks 10th in driving accuracy on the PGA TOUR. Colt Knost, a local SMU graduate, will be making his second Championship appearance. Last year Knost battled his way through Monday qualifying to earn a spot in the Championship. He was the first amateur to make the cut since 1993 and finished T67, after shooting the low round of the day, 64, on Saturday. Ryan Palmer won the 2004 FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort. He ranks T7 in consecutive Greens in Regulation on the PGA TOUR. This will be his fourth Championship appearance.
