Limited
Edition Nelson Memorial Pins For Sale
Fans
attending the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship have an opportunity
to commemorate the legacy of the Championship's namesake. The Byron
Nelson memorial pin features the silhouette of the late golfer and
philanthropist as well as this year's Championship slogan, "Byron's
Work for the Kids Continues." The oval keepsake is white with blue
lettering accented in gold trim.
The limited edition pins
are on sale for $2 at the Championship Golf Shop Presented by
MasterCard at Champions
Way. Proceeds from all merchandise sales
go to Salesmanship Club Youth and Family
Centers, the
main beneficiary of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship.
Mr.
Nelson was extremely proud of the role the Salesmanship Club of
Dallas and the EDS Byron Nelson Championship played in working with
kids. In fact, Nelson considered those off the course contributions
more satisfying than any of his remarkable accomplishments on the
links.
"It's the best thing that ever happened to me in
golf," Nelson said. "(It is) Better than winning the Masters or the
U.S. Open or eleven in a row, because it helps people."

EDS
and Orange County Choppers Unveil
First-Ever PGA TOUR Event
Motorcycle |
|

|
|
EDS
and Orange County Choppers (OCC), one of the world's premier
builders of custom motorcycles, today unveiled three EDS Byron
Nelson Championship themed motorcycles at the TPC Four Seasons
Resort in Irving, Texas, the home of the 2007
EDS Byron Nelson Championship.
The world-famous
Teutuls - Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and Mikey - the creative forces
behind OCC and stars of the international hit television show,
"American Chopper," built three identical choppers for EDS.
EDS will award one of the motorcycles to the winner of
the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship, the first time in PGA
TOUR history that a custom "chopper" has been awarded to a
tournament winner. EDS will donate one of the custom
motorcycles to an online auction to benefit Salesmanship Club
Youth and Family Centers, the children's charity associated
with the tournament. The third chopper will be retained by EDS
and used to raise awareness of the EDS Byron Nelson
Championship and the charity it supports.
In addition
to the motorcycle auction, EDS will auction a customized
Ultimate Golf Ball Frenzy pinball machine, which has an OCC
theme and will be autographed by the Teutuls and PGA TOUR
players participating in the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson
Championship.
The auctions go live today, April 25 at
7 p.m. CDT and close Wednesday, May 2 at 7 p.m. CDT. For more
information, or to place a bid on these unique auction items,

My
Favorite Memory as a JEJCS Student: Meeting Byron
Nelson |
|

|
|
According
to Nallely Miranda, a lot of memories are created at J. Erik
Jonsson Community School. One of her favorites happened to be
a field trip she was selected to go on one year ago with three
other JEJCS sixth-graders -- personally handing Brett
Wetterich, winner of the 2006 EDS Byron Nelson Championship, a
check for $1,116,000 along with Byron Nelson.
"It was
an honor to be selected to present the winning check to the
golf professional who won the EDS Byron Nelson Championship
last year," Miranda said. "It was even more of an honor to
shake Mr. Nelson's hand."
Miranda is one of three 2006
JEJCS graduates attending prestigious private schools on
scholarship this year. She attends Greenhill
School
along with one other JEJCS graduate. Another recent graduate
attends St. Marks School of Texas.
When asked what she
learned at the school where Byron's legacy continues, Miranda
had this to share: "I personally had no idea how much I had
benefited from JEJ until I went to Greenhill
School
this year. Thanks to my wonderful studies at JEJ, Greenhill is
actually easy for me!"
