After evaluating the 2006 media survey, several media dining upgrades have been made for this year. Members of the media have exclusive access to the new media dining tent on the lawn directly outside the Media Center.

Due to popular demand, the menu will feature a different hot entrée item each day, as well as a deli sandwich buffet. The new menu items are sure to please everyone.

The dining tent will offer couches and televisions allowing media to relax while staying informed. Upcoming interviews in the Media Center will be announced, and the interviews will be shown on TVs in the dining area.

Five years ago, Skip Oskey, an EDS employee based in Michigan, signed up as a first-time volunteer for the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. The contagious spirit of the event brings him to Texas each year to give something back.

Oskey is one of EDS’ 325 volunteers traveling from 13 countries around the world including Australia, Canada and Hungary as well as 28 states across the U.S. to participate in this year’s Championship.

“Seeing the passion in Byron Nelson and his wife, Peggy, is one reason why I want to be there this year more than ever – to serve Byron’s memory and carry his legacy onward,” Oskey said.

Throughout the week of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship, Oskey and other EDSers are manning the leaderboards, sorting golf balls and keeping the facilities clean.

“It’s rewarding,” Oskey said. “When your legs and feet are aching, you know that you’ve done something that’s going to last and help other people.”

Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia and Trevor Immelman have officially committed to play in the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Donald is ranked No. 11 in the world, No. 17 on the PGA TOUR money list and No. 17 in the race for the FedExCup. Garcia is No. 13 in the world, No. 38 on the TOUR money list and No. 39 in the race for the FedExCup. Immelman is No. 12 in the world, No. 8 on the TOUR money list and No. 16 in the race for the FedExCup.
