Welcome to the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship, a celebration of the life and legacy of Byron Nelson. The Nelson News will keep you informed of player commitments, new sponsors, charity news, and a few surprises as well.
Byron’s work for the kids continues. The EDS Byron Nelson Championship is proud to carry on Byron’s legacy of helping children and families which, in his own words, meant more to him than anything he accomplished in golf.

Championship Receives Milestone Award from TOUR |

In December, the EDS Byron Nelson Championship received the $90 Million Milestone Award from the PGA TOUR Tournaments Association for our continuing commitment to charity and for surpassing $90 million in charitable giving.
The Championship remains the highest overall charitable contributor on the PGA TOUR and will pass the $100 million milestone in charitable giving with proceeds from the 2007 Championship. |

JOHN DALY ACCEPTS SPONSOR EXEMPTION
John Daly has accepted a sponsor exemption to play in the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Daly turned pro in 1987 and has won two majors and three PGA TOUR events.
2007 PURSE INCREASED
The purse for the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship will be $6.3 million with the champion’s share at $1,134,000.
The prize money represents a $100,000 increase over 2006. The champion will earn more than $1 million for the fifth straight year. |

Any day pavilion tickets ($45) and weekly pavilion badges ($90) are now available on Ticketmaster.com, by calling Ticketmaster at (214) 373-8000, or by visiting Ticketmaster outlets located in Macy's, Fiesta supermarkets, Majestic Theater and select Tower Records and FYE stores.
Tickets and badges grant admission to the Championship and allow access to the Food Court Pavilion and Courtyard presented by MasterCard. For ticket packages over $350 or other sponsorship opportunities, please call (214) 742-3896. |
EDS Volunteers Create Artwork as Tribute to Byron |

EDS volunteers gathered at the Salemanship Club's Family Works Center last fall for EDS Global Volunteer Day. The volunteers helped with various projects, but the most impressive by far was the creation of a Byron Nelson mosaic watercolor.
This watercolor will be on display at the Family Works Center and serves as a tribute to our Championship namesake.
An EDS initiative since 1993, Global Volunteer Day is observed every October as EDS employees across the globe collectively donate thousands of hours to help people in their own communities. |
